Pacquiao on PPV King Title

The much awaited megafight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather might not happen inside the ring, but, there is an off ring battle happening between the two great boxers.

The upcoming bouts of the two boxers with their respective opponents are now being followed by almost everyone, not just boxing fans.

The off ring battle between Mayweather and Pacquiao is over pay-per-view numbers. Whoever gets the greater number will be reigned as PPV King.

Even if it’s still not clear on who’s got the biggest draw in boxing, Mayweather already claims that he is the greatest of them all. Pacquiao, on the other hand, is humble enough to say that he couldn’t care less.

Pacquiao still doesn’t think of himself as a great boxer. He still believes that it is not for him to say how much of a good fighter he is. It is the people that should be saying how he is.

Last year, Pacquiao hit over 1.4 million pay-per-view buys against Oscar dela Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito, Shane Mosley, and Juan Manuel Marquez.

HBO senior vice president Mark Taffet said that those buys takes Pacquiao to the super elite status and in the annals of pay-per-view history.

Ever since Mayweather came out of retirement, his pay-per-view buys during his fight with Victor Ortiz did not go over 1.25 million. However, he still shares the record of 2.4 million pay-per-view buys during his fight with Dela Hoya in 2007.

Mayweather should have over a million buys against Cotto so that he won’t embarrass himself after saying he is the greatest of them all and to pray that Pacquiao will fail to draw the number against Bradley.
