It goes without saying that Manny Pacquiao is one of the top two pound for pound boxers in the world. He and Floyd Mayweather have reigned over the sport with an iron fist and they intend to continue doing so. Manny has gone on a 15 fight winning streak and captured nearly every title available. He has earned millions and millions of dollars over that time, and his name is as big as any great sports figure in history. On June 9th, he faces a lesser known fighter in Tim Bradley, a fighter that has gone undefeated his entire career, and has captured 3 world championships in the process. The Pacquiao vs Bradley fight may seem one sided on Pacquiao’s corner, however the reality is that Desert Storm has an opportunity to shock the world in June.
In order to have a chance to take this fight, Bradley will have to use the tactics that got him to the title shot, and use them well. Timothy Bradley has a better chin than other Pacquiao opponents, and it is near impossible to break his will. Manny will have to throw many punches and combos to stun Bradley. If Bradley get’s a gameplan going that is working, it may involve moving forward and brawling with Manny, which could be dangerous. He definitely has a chance to beat Manny, however it will have to be done with a well thought out gameplan.
For Manny Pacquiao, it is another day at the office. He will enter the ring, put on a show for the fans, and then go back to the Phillipines to fulfill his congressman and Bible study duties in his home country.
With a fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather looming over this fight, one must think what would happen if Desert Storm pulls off the upset. The structure of the entire division would change. A win by Bradley would change everything.
